It was another great evening at Lipscomb University for the Music City Corporate Challenge hosted by the Special Olympics Tennessee. For this round, the challenge was cornhole. The teams in attendance were UBS, Alliance Bernstein, Jackson, First Horizon, Asurion, Nashville Predators, Aegis Sciences Corporation, Tennessee Titans, Franklin Madison, Ncontracts, TrustCore, and Currax Pharmaceuticals. At the event, the twelve teams were split into two divisions. In each division, the teams competed for gold, silver and bronze.

At the event, the teams played cornhole against one another, first in a round robin, and then in a medal round. The round robin was one game per round with a fifteen-minute time limit, while the medal rounds were best two out of three with a fifteen-minute time limit. Special Olympics Tennessee staff, along with volunteers helped set up the event and keep score of the different games.

In division two the Tennessee Titans came in third place, the Nashville Predators came in second place and TrustCore took it all with the gold medal. In division one, First Horizon came in third place, Asurion came in second place, and winning it all with the gold medal was Alliance Bernstein. In the end, medals were given out to the teams of the winning participants and photos of each team were taken as well.

“It was a good experience, said Zach from Alliance Bernstein. "I met a bunch of people from a variety of different companies and corporations at the event and had a lot of fun playing cornhole.”

Volunteers play an incredible role in helping events run smoothly.

“I thought Special Olympics Tennessee did a really good job of organizing the event," said Peyton, who was experiencing their second time volunteering. "Also, I thought it was a really good turnout.”

Thank you to all the companies participating in the Music City Corporate Challenge and to all volunteers helping Special Olympics Tennessee at the events.
