Night two of the Music City Corporate Challenge presented by Lifepoint Health took place Thursday night at Lipscomb University. This division of competition featured: Lee Company, AllianceBernstein, UBS, Aegis Sciences Corporation and Special Olympics Tennessee Board of Directors & Young Professionals Board.

The tournament was lively, and everyone involved got to be a kid again from the referees to the players. After two hours of rousing dodgeball action where players dipped, ducked, dived and dodged, UBS took bronze, Aegis Sciences took silver and AllianceBernstein took gold with a squad of five players.

Although his team did not win, Jay Jones of Aegis Sciences had a blast playing dodgeball with his coworkers. Jones said that his favorite dodgeball memory of all time was playing intramural dodgeball with his college fraternity, Kappa Alpha Order. In college, Jones jumped over one dodgeball caught another one and then did a backflip in the process, allegedly. That skill was well on display during Music City Corporate Challenge as he was the last player standing many times and propelled his team to victory.

This event was not about the victors but about people coming together to have a good time and raise money to support Special Olympics Tennessee.

The Music City Corporate Challenge will continue throughout the month and into August. Next week will feature 3v3 basketball. Thank you to all the companies and organizations that participated and made this event such a rousing success.
