Special Olympics Global Messengers are athletes, trained in public speaking, who help spread the message and vision of the movement and share their stories as to how Special Olympics has enhanced their lives through participation and inclusion. As leaders and ambassadors for Special Olympics, Global Messengers attend and speak at Special Olympics events, fundraisers, and meetings. Through the Athlete Leadership programs, Global Messengers are equipped with a variety of skills that transfer into the workplace, their school and community. Global Messengers are the voice of Special Olympics, communicating the powerful declaration of hope, acceptance, and courage of athletes throughout the world.
