As the second week of the Music City Corporate Challenge, presented by Lifepoint Health, kicked off with sand volleyball, Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) presented a fierce and united force. Casey Cannon, the Communications Coordinator of GMC for a little over five years, spoke highly of the event.

“I am most excited because it benefits Special Olympics, and so whenever we saw it was for a good cause, that was when our office decided to join,” said Cannon.

She claimed that, as this was their first event, GMC was excited to include individuals from their office to foster team building while also supporting a good cause.

“This is just a really good team bonding activity for everyone and a good way to get everyone out of the office doing something active,” stated Cannon.

As the intensity of the competition progressed throughout the night, GMC remained confident and persistent. In both dodgeball and sand volleyball, GMC has won silver in their division.

“We had a goal to go out there and have fun and we had a new goal to win,” claimed Cannon.

While the competition aspect of the game was fierce, GMC remained motivated not only to win but also to support the pillars of their organization.

“Our motto is building communities, and we do a lot with giving back," said Cannon. "Our whole firm is based around serving others, and so if there was something we could do that helped other people or was for a good cause, then we would want to participate."

Despite this year’s Corporate Challenge being their first, GMC is ready to join Special Olympics again next year.

“They ensure everyone is included and recognized even just for participating," said Cannon. "We had several people thank us at the first event just for being there. We’ve already planned to do it again next year."
