Skiing, Snowboarding, Speed Skating & 3v3 Basketball

Special Olympics Tennessee has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2026 State Winter Games, originally scheduled for January 25 to 27, 2026, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, due to a winter storm expected to impact the region. Special Olympics Tennessee is actively exploring rescheduling portions of the competition to a later date.
Updates regarding potential rescheduled events, registration adjustments, and related communications will be shared directly with registered athletes, coaches, families, heads of delegation and posted on the organization’s website and social channels as they become available.

The event includes competitions in 4 sports and a first-ever fitness clinic:
The event includes an Opening Ceremony, a victory celebration, group dinners. Healthy Athletes screenings and much more!

Sunday, January 25
- 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Healthy Athletes: Special Smiles, Fit Feet, FUNFitness
- 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Registration and equipment fitting
- 5:00 p.m. - Torch Run arrival and Cauldron lighting
- 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. - Dinner
- 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. - Opening Ceremonies presented by Lifepoint Health at Gatlinburg Convention Center

Monday, January 26
Ober Mountain (Alpine skiing, snowboarding & speed skating)
- 9:15 AM - Mountain Torch Relay
- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Instructional session for mountain sports
- 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Speed skating time trials
- 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM - Alpine skiing and snowboarding instruction
Rocky Top Sports World (3v3 basketball)
- 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Basketball Pool Play
- Train 4 Life™ Fitness Clinic
Tuesday, January 27
Ober Mountain (Alpine skiing, snowboarding & speed skating)
9:00 AM to 11:30 AM - Instruction and time trials (Skiing and snowboarding)
9:00 AM to 10:30 AM - Warmups (speedskating)
12:30 PM to 3:30 PM - Competition (speedksating)
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Final competition (skiing and snowboarding)
1:30 PM to 3:00 PM - Alpine skiing and snowboarding instruction
