Week 3 of the Music City Corporate Challenge was off to a rainy start but led two teams to sand volleyball gold at the SandBar in Nashville. The teams on the court - CapStar, Crowe LLC, Pillsbury Law, Nashville Predators, Tennessee Titans and Turner Construction for Division 2. Division 3 brought back CAPTRUST, Cooper Steel, Currax Pharmaceuticals, Franklin Madison, N Contracts, Silicon Ranch and the Special Olympics Tennessee Board of Directors and Young Professionals Board.
Division 2 teams competed in an intense set of sand volleyball matches to determine who would play in the final. With gold in mind, the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans battled to achieve victory on Monday night. After a neck and neck double final matchup, the Predators came out on top, winning their second medal and first gold at Music City Corporate Challenge. The Titans took silver with Pillsbury Law behind them at bronze.
CAPTRUST and Silicon Ranch also competed in a two-match final to achieve gold. Another close match-up to end the Division 3 competition, leaving Silicon Ranch with silver. CAPTRUST took the gold and Cooper Steel received bronze. CAPTRUST earned their second consecutive gold medal at Corporate Challenge, having won the men’s basketball competition last week.
Although a medal was not in place, Jerry Butler, a Special Olympics Tennessee board member and athlete, was overjoyed to play alongside the Board of Directors and Young Professionals Board’s team.
“I think we did pretty well out there, especially with no practice,” said Butler. “I’m happy I got to play with them [the Special Olympics Board of Directors and Young Professionals Board] today.”
