Train 4 Life™ is a wellness project that focuses on athlete fitness, nutrition and mental health. It is a great way to get athletes active and stronger for their sport and their lives. The goal of Train 4 Life™ is for athletes to achieve fitness and health outcomes and feel empowered and educated about healthy, active lifestyles.

Anna Ming has been an active athlete in Special Olympics Tennessee’s Fitness 4 Life™ program in the Upper Cumberland Region. She says she has been an athlete for Special Olympics for a long time, even though she is only twenty-four years old. During her time as an athlete, she has competed in powerlifting and fitness.

Ming loves Train 4 Life™ and loved the fitness competition at State Fall Games. She said her favorite part was the dumbbell thrusters at one of the stations. She also said the competition was super hard but really fun.

“It was really fun, and it makes me feel really strong; it really hurts my muscles,” said Ming.

Ming talked about how being an athlete for Special Olympics is really cool because she gets to train and compete with all her friends. More importantly, she said her whole family was there to support her at the Tennessee State Fall Games.

“My mom, dad and sister are here, and also my grandparents,” Ming said about her family support.

She says she loves how Train 4 Life™ makes her feel super strong, and it is an activity she likes to do every week.
