The Nashville SC Unified Team concluded their 2024 season with a hard-fought match against Atlanta United FC’s Unified Team. The Unified Team in gold fell short in a 3-2 match-up at Mercedes Benz Stadium but ended the season with an unforgettable trip to the Peach State.
Athlete Rogen Bonn of Williamson County reflected on his first season with the team. He highlighted meeting the Nashville SC players, like Jacob Shaffelburg, and how coaches Misty, Aaron and Megan have helped him improve his game.
“[The team] helped me get better at soccer,” Bonn stated.
Bonn even showcased his epic goal celebration after Unified partner Bre Fisher scored the match's first goal. Check out Bonn’s celebration here, as seen in the team's final practice of the season.
Unified partner Cole Ballweber, another first-year on the team, was invited to try out by Unified partner Chris Parks. The pair met playing soccer together at a younger age and continued to play as teammates and Unified partners with Nashville SC. Ballweber encourages those thinking about joining the team to do so, highlighting how the team has impacted his soccer career.
“It makes me feel very blessed, just as a person,” said Ballweber. “I feel like it made me better.”
Additionally, Ballweber scored the team’s second and final goal of the match.
“It was awesome just to go celebrate with the team and see all the excitement and joy in [my teammates],” Ballweber said. “It was awesome.”
